BOOKS!

My 13 year old cousins brought me some of their old books that they don't read anymore, but a lot of them are 3rd, 4th, 5th grade level that I can't really use in my 1st grade class! There are a lot of "Goosebumps" books as well as some beginning chapter books. If anyone is interested, I can bring them to Hopkins on Tuesday. There are about 40 books, so there are enough to go around! Just let me know if any of you are interested so I can bring them on Tuesday!

Thanks!

A great group!

One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child. ~Carl Jung

Names

Hey everyone!

I know a while back we had a nice class discussion about the strange names we have all encountered. Well I was reading the news this morning and I found this article about names in New Zealand that I thought I would share:

Out of all the names they mention in the article, my personal favorite is "Yeah Detroit."
